Jeanne Bogar was born and raised in the Chicago area. As long as she can remember she was creating things and learning new ways to create. Jeanne graduated from Illinois State University with a BS in Art with an emphasis on Visual Communications. Soon after graduation she worked as a package designer, graphic designer and illustrator for consumer products.

In 2013 she discovered how to create fine art in colored pencil as member of the locally based Beech Tree Studio Community. Jeanne is a member of the Chicago chapter of the Colored Pencil Society of America and a Signature Member of the Colored Pencil Society of America. Her colored pencil artwork has been juried into regional and national exhibitions.

In addition to her photo realistic colored pencil genre, Jeanne recently discovered abstract acrylic on canvas. She has embraced the freedom to experiment with color and shape outside the bounds of a specific image. The contrast in techniques and style has expanded her creative process.

Jeanne continues to create artwork in her home studio in Geneva, Illinois.

“My artwork is inspired by the way light plays with vibrant images and shadows that add strong tension and depth to a composition. Emotions of positivity and joy by using color are very appealing to me. The goal is to take the audience on a visual, uplifting journey through each piece.”
